Manor House

Share |
This is Manor House, located inside Camp John Hay. Each room costs Php 4600, about $110 usd. That's not bad for a nice hotel room with a veranda. There's also free breakfast buffet. This is my favorite hotel. I just love the smell of the wood used in building this place. I used to really like John Hay but it is quite commercialized now and somehow, something is missing already.

This is the Agno River. This can be seen through Kennon Road view decks. Quite magnificent view but as usual slum dwellers just ruin it.

Ukay Ukay, etc

Share |

Well, Baguio is known to have a lot of "ukay ukay" (second hand quality goods). You gotta to know what are fakes and what are real though. This picture is taken in Session Road. There is Philippine Export Zone near Lowakan where you can buy export overruns. The goods here are amazingly cheap you'd wish you live in Baguio.

Maharlika Bargains

Share |
Maharlika shopping center, bottom of Session Road, is one of the cheapest places where you can get best deals. Be careful to pick your own strawberries from the buckets. Make sure you also haggle with the prices. Vendors would charge you more if you appear to have a lot of money. There are kids you can pay a few bucks to carry your shopping for you. The best deal here is a Php30 for a big bundle of broccolis that you get for Php150 from SM or Robinsons supermarket.

Baguio Airport

Baguio airport is only open at 10am. This is located near Lowakan area as well. Fogs during other times of day make it dangerous to fly.

I loved the scenery while driving along Marcos Highway. The place was so lush with trees and crops, it reminded me of Queensland countryside in Australia.

Kayaking at Hundred Islands

Share |

It was my first time to do kayaking, one of the best sports I have ever tried. The waves were quite strong and high and it was difficult to row if you have weak arms and guts. I had to use my legs for more rowing strength.

10 Minutes from Hundred Islands

I took this shot from the boat, 10 minutes from the Quezon Islands. There are only 3 "developed" islands -- Quezon Island, Children's Island and Governor's Island. http://www.philtourism.com/barkadatours_hinp.html

Going to Hundred Islands, Alaminos City, Pangasinan

Share |
It takes about 4 to 5 hours to go to Alaminos City, Pangasinan, from Manila, depending on the amount of traffic, detours and stop overs, and time of day you leave.
To go to Hundred Islands, located near Lucap, it takes 30 minutes boat ride. This is the view from Maxine's Restaurant in Lucap, Alaminos City, Pangasinan.
